Getting a Library Card

Your student or staff photo ID card serves as your library card. At the beginning of each semester, take your card (the same card; you don't need a new one each semester) to the Admissions Office or any service desk in either Library for a current semester validation sticker. Remember to bring your ID card with you whenever you visit.

Mahoney Library Circulation Desk

Photo ID cards cost $3.00. To get a photo student ID card:

  • On the Santa Rosa Campus, get your photo ID card at the Information Desk located in the Bertolini Student Services Center, adjacent to Doyle Library. During fall and spring semesters, ID cards are issued Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Wednesdays 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
  • On the Petaluma Campus, ID cards are issued at Student Services in the Call Building, Room 608. Service hours are usually Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Hours may change.


You may also borrow books with a nonphoto SRJC student ID card, but in this case, you will be required to show a second piece of ID with your photo on it.
