El Día de los Muertos: Works by Peter Perez (Mahoney Gallery)

Herold Mahoney Library Gallery

Famed Latino artist Peter Perez will exhibit his work during October at the Mahoney Library Gallery on the SRJC Petaluma Campus. Perez was born into a large Mexican Family in Southern California and his talent as an illustrator was recognized early on. He attended the Pasadena School of Design and went on to a successful career as a graphic designer for some of the nation's best known companies.

After retirement he returned to California and dedicated his talents to the traditional El Día de los Muertos celebrations that were expanding throughout the state. Perez has curated and contributed to celebrations in Pasadena, San Francisco and locally in Sonoma County. In addition to the exhibit at Mahoney Library, you can also see Peter's etchings at the Doyle Library on the Santa Rosa Campus and at the El Día de los Muertos exhibition at the Sonoma County Museum in downtown Santa Rosa.
