How do I borrow a textbook?
Books in our Textbook Collection are available in-person on a first-come, first-served basis at:
- Doyle Library: 2nd Floor Circulation Desk
- Mahoney Library: 1st Floor Circulation Desk
Please have the call number ready by locating your book in Smart Search (use search box above).
What is the loan length for textbooks?
Depending on the book, one of the following loan periods apply:
- 2 hours (In library use only)
- 4 hours
- 1 day
- 3 days
- 1 semester
You can see the loan length for a particular book if you are signed into Smart Search.
Who can check out textbooks?
Current SRJC students with an SRJC Student ID number, faculty, and staff members may borrow textbooks and other course materials from Course Reserves.
Are there overdue fines or lost fees?
For 2-hour and 4-hour, overdue fines are $1 per hour. For 1-day and 3-day, overdue fines are $2.50 per day. The maximum amount for overdue fines is $25 per item. If a textbook is lost, the replacement fee is $100.
As an instructor, how do I add items from Reserves?
Please fill out the Book/Textbook Request form. If you wish to place personal copies of books or articles on reserve, your copy will be returned to you when they are taken off reserve.
