Borrowing Information

  • SRJC Students
    • Must be currently enrolled in a course at SRJC, includes Older Adult Program & Adult Education. (These students register through the SRJC Schedule of Classes)
    • Must have Student Identification Number
    • Maximum of 25 items can be checked out

Additional Information

  • Returns + Drop Boxes

    Items can be returned at SRJC Libraries during open hours or at book drops anytime (no laptops in book drops, please).

    Please allow 1-3 business days for your return to reflect on your library account.

  • Renewals

    • Online renewals are available through Smart Search (login to renew)

  • Required ID for Borrowing

    You'll need your Student ID Number or your Employee ID to borrow materials.

  • Overdue Fines & Lost Fees

    Lost Fees:

    • Regular books - $50
    • Textbooks on Reserve - $100
    • Laptop computers - $750  

     

    For other tech gear items, such as calculators and chargers, the lost fee equals the purchase price of the item. Students are notified of specific lost fees when receiving overdue and lost notices.

     

    Overdue fines:

    Overdue fines are only charged for Textbooks on Reserve. For 2-hour and 4-hour, overdue fines are $1 per hour. For 1-day and 3-day, overdue fines are $2.50 per day. The maximum amount for overdue fines is $25 per item, per checkout.

     

    Payment may be made at the Accounting Office in Bailey Hall, online via the student portal, by mail, or by phoning (707) 527-4973. If you are being charged for an item replacement, the fee may be reduced by return of the item in good condition.
