We The Future Social Justice Conference 2026
Resources to support the April 24, 2026 Conference at SRJC Petaluma
On view during open Mahoney Library hours through July 23, 2026.
The Mahoney Library Gallery is on the first floor of the Herold Mahoney Library.
Entry is free, but a $4 parking pass is required. Details at Visitor Parking.
The items on display in the Mahoney Library Gallery are related to the We The Future Social Justice Conference 2026 sessions and the conference themes of joy and resistance.
The display cases host zines made by students for an Ethnic Studies 23 assignment by faculty Moises Santos. In ETHS 23, students study the Chicanx and Latinx communities and cultures in U.S. society from Indigenous civilizations to the present. Chicanx and Latinx contributions to U.S. society are examined by using an ethnic studies lens and interdisciplinary approach, including social and behavioral sciences, humanities, literature, art, and music.
The display cases also feature protest posters, stickers, and T-shirts by artist and activist Shepard Fairey. Protest posters my be downloaded from his artist website at OBEY Giant. In addition, view books related to comic and zine creation and zines by author/illustrator Maia Kobabe.
Pick up a how-to booklet showing how to create a zine or take timeout at the activity table to create a zine of your own or color one of the activism art pages. Get inspired by activist posters hanging on the wall, including posters by Shepard Fairey.
Look for the book displays in the Mahoney Library Gallery featuring social justice themes--books on display may be checked out.
